Georgian Bay Wet Cleaners has been in business, in one form or another, since the 1980s. In 2006, Derron and Laura Bodell bought the Trowbridge Cleaning Centre in Meaford and converted an old dry-cleaning plant into a state-of-the-art, non-toxic wet cleaner.
Since then the family has grown the business to serve Meaford, Thornbury, Collingwood, the Blue Mountains, and Wasaga Beach — where our plant on Mosley Street now anchors the whole operation. Today we're full-service again: wet cleaning, household care, and wash & fold, with five locations to drop in and pickup & delivery right across the Bay.
The business has been family-owned and operated from the start. We live, work, and play in the communities we serve — so we know our neighbours, and we answer the phone when it rings. Two of our team members alone have more than thirty years' combined experience here. That's a track record we're proud of.
We take our environmental commitment seriously. First and foremost, we're a perchloroethylene-free facility — no PERC, a type-2 carcinogen most conventional cleaners still use as their main solvent. No toxic chemicals enter our cleaning process at all.
Across our facilities we run only high-efficiency commercial equipment, follow a reduced-waste policy, and when we do sleeve your clothes, even the plastic is biodegradable. Better for your garments, better for the people who clean them, and better for the Bay.
